Academic Health Science Networks

The AHSNs will bring together universities, hospitals, mental health services, primary care, clinical commissioning groups, public health, social care, the voluntary sector and industry, translating world-class research into improved patient care, thus driving economic growth.

The Eastern Academic Health Science Network

The Eastern AHSN works across a health system serving a population of 4.5 million people in the East of England.  The Eastern AHSN footprint covers the whole of the East of England (as defined by the former NHS East of England SHA) excepting southern areas of Essex, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, which have established relationships with London, with whom we have developed close working relationships.
